Coach Kendrick has been coaching Youth and High School Sports for over 16 years. His original passion for playing the game evolved into an enthusiasm for teaching after his playing days were over. Early on it was primarily volunteer coaching for recreational youth leagues and would quickly transition to the highly competitive AAU circuit. Coach Kendrick first coached the High School level at Heritage High School (Menifee, Ca) in 2007. There he was a part of the inaugural staff, while serving as the Freshman Coach and Lead Varsity Assistant. He has also been a part of 03 Elite since its inception. He is currently the Varsity Boys Head Coach at Colton High School. Coach Kendrick is dedicated to being a positive influence for student athletes both on and off the field of competition.
Coaching Philosophy and Summary
“I believe that many defining principles and life lessons can be introduced and reinforced through sport. Hardwork, perseverance, and self discipline are all staples of a successful athlete, student, and citizen. Developing the ability to work and achieve success within a team environment translates to many areas of life. Learning to communicate effectively with teammates and coaches aids greatly in self confidence. The dedication and sacrifices that a student athlete must employ can be effectively applied to the pursuit of almost all future goals.
I have an intense passion for the sport of basketball and study all aspects of the game daily. As a coach, I am dedicated to the development and maturation of my team and players. I strive to establish trust and confidence by creating a systematic structure for growth and improvement.
I have found that a system of documenting and tracking performance measurables, serves to keep both players and staff on clearly defined path for success. I have a vast background of experience in organizational leadership which serves as a blueprint for structured problem solving and the efficient implementation of new concepts.”
