VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH: Darren Willams

Coach Darren Williams is a former standout player of the O3 Elite program and is considered to be one of the first cornerstones of the club. He began playing under coaches Andre Wallace and Darryl Williams at the age of six years old, dating from 2006 when the club was founded up until 2017. Due to his successes as a player, Coach Darren Williams provides a unique perspective for our players as not only can he relate to them as he is still an active collegiate basketball player, but he can also provide the guidance necessary to help our players prepare for the next level.

Coach Darren Williams competed on the Rancho Cucamonga High School basketball team from the years 2014 to 2018. At RCHS Williams played 3 years of varsity basketball under Coach Bill Burke in the highly touted Baseline League. Williams earned several awards including All Baseline League 1st Team, All CIF 2nd Team, as well as Daily Bulletin All-Area First Team.

After attending RCHS, WiIlliams then decided to continue his career at Chaffey College. Williams played two seasons for Coach Jeff Klein where they were able to win conference championships in both years (2018-19/2019-20). In his sophomore season Williams, averaging 17.1 points and 5.9 assists per contest, was able to lead the Chaffey Panthers to a perfect conference record of 16-0 where he was an All-State Selection as well as the first ever Inland Empire Athletic Conference MVP in its inaugural season.

Due to his success at Chaffey College Coach Williams was able to earn a scholarship to continue his athletic career at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. The Hawaii Hilo Vulcans compete at the NCAA Division II level in the highly competitive PacWest Conference. In his first season with the Vulcans (2020-21), Williams averaged 14.1 points and was an All PacWest Conference First Team Selection. Coach Darren WIlliams is still a member of the UH Hilo Men’s Basketball team and has two years of NCAA eligibility remaining.
